Daniel Hertz USB 1 DAC

The Daniel Hertz Model 1 USB DAC (digital to analog converter) takes the USB digital signal from the computer and generates a very high quality analog signal via stereo RCA connectors that connect to your amplifier.

Most computers have built-in DAC's, but the sonic quality is often less than the best. The Daniel Hertz DAC has been carefully engineered and tuned by ear to give you the full benefit of Burwen Bobcat. Compared with many high end DAC's selling for five or ten thousand dollars, it is exceptionally affordable and offers performance second to none.

While Burwen Bobcat software modifies the digital bitstream, the Daniel Hertz DAC takes that bitstream and converts it to analog with the transparency, accuracy, low noise, and warm, open, natural sonic quality that music lovers want.

Burwen Bobcat software only opens when the computer is connected to the Daniel Hertz USB DAC.

The Daniel Hertz DAC has a headphone jack (stereo mini) with volume control. This can be connected to headphones or to a CDR (CD recorder) which enables the user to make "Bobcat" CD's. These can be used in a car, portable CD player, or loaded into a computer and downloaded into an iPod – for "i-cat" MP3 playback. The sonic advantages are retained in all cases.

“Burwen Bobcat will transform the audio world by giving us true convergence — the soul of analog with the convenience of computer music storage and downloading”  –Mark Levinson
